Kopi luwak or civet coffee, is considered an exotic and expensive drink. A unique and (1) intreging beverage, it is brewed from coffee beans extracted from the faeces of the Asian palm civet, a small animal native (2) of Southeast Asia.
The civets selectively eat ripe coffee cherries, digesting the fruity pulp while leaving the coffee beans intact. These then (3) passes through the civet's digestive system (4) where supposedly enhances their flavour by reducing bitterness and acidity while imparting a unique (5) aeromatik scent.
