Singapore's Chinese dialects consist mostly of Teochew, Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka and Hainanese. Nowadays, dialect (1) more commonly used in short phrases amongst the youths. This is actually spoken more often among the older generation. Typically, we hear them use dialect when they gather (2) their friends.
