Marie Curie is considered to be one of the most influential scientists of all time. She had a lasting (1) impact on the way we understand the world around us. She was (2) famous for her discovery of radioactivity that changed the way scientists experimented with the atom. She was so (3) dedicated to her work that she refused to take time off, even when she was seriously ill. This led to her contracting radiation poisoning, which killed her (4) in the end.
She was the first woman to win a Nobel prize and the (5) only person to win Nobel prizes in two different sciences: physics and chemistry. In fact, the founding of her research centres in both Paris and Warsaw also helped make sure that women could continue to study science and contribute to the community.
